Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding

The CCDP is the Graduate Institute’s focal point for research in the areas of conflict analysis, humanitarianism, peacebuilding, and the complex relationships between security and development.

At the CCDP, research projects focus on the factors and actors that are implicated in the production and reproduction of violence within and between societies and states, as well as on policies and practices to reduce violence and insecurity and enhance development and peacebuilding initiatives at the international, state, and local levels.

Research at the CCDP is conducted with a variety of partners and sponsors across the globe, operating at the Swiss, international and field levels. These include private and public foundations, donor governments, international organizations, international and local NGOs, think-tanks, and university departments. Emphasis is placed on providing opportunities for local researchers to get involved in projects and be active members of the CCDP’s research teams.
