The Geneva Peacebuilding Platform, in collaboration with the Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation and with the support of the Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the United Nations in Geneva, cordially invites diplomats based in Geneva to a comprehensive training session on "Sustaining Peace: What Role for Geneva-Based Diplomats."
About the Training
This training is designed to equip Geneva-based diplomats with the knowledge and tools necessary to contribute effectively to the promotion and maintenance of peace. Participants will engage in discussions and activities aimed at exploring the role of diplomats in sustaining peace efforts, particularly within the context of Geneva's diplomatic landscape.
Objective
The training aims at offering experts as well as senior staff in diplomatic missions essential knowledge on peacebuilding frameworks, mechanisms and actors. It will deal in particular with the potential intersection between peace and different sectors of international Geneva, and will address notably the UN’s work on Peacebuilding, as well as the intersections between Disarmament and Peace and Human Rights and Peace among others. In addition, the main organisations based in Geneva which are working on peacebuilding will be invited to present their work and share their contacts.
