Please note that the event will take place at 16:30 New York time (EDT)
Contemporary conflicts and crises are increasingly interconnected. Addressing them effectively, whether at headquarters or in the field, at policy or operational level, requires similarly coordinated and collaborative action. Yet important questions remain as to how key multilateral peacebuilding hubs, such as New York, Geneva, Addis Ababa, and Vienna, can be more effectively connected across the United Nations system and beyond. While these hubs host dense communities of practice bringing together UN entities, regional organizations, civil society, academia and other partners, their potential is not yet consistently leveraged across locations, limiting opportunities to fully realize synergies, complementarity, and efficiency.
The 2025 Review of the UN Peacebuilding Architecture has highlighted the need for greater system-wide coherence, stronger coordination, and more inclusive and efficient approaches. Against this backdrop, the event will explore how stronger connections between peacebuilding communities across key multilateral hubs can enhance the inclusivity, efficiency, and impact of international peacebuilding efforts, and examine the strategic importance of convening initiatives in this regard.
